The Groundflr story begins in the mid 2015 in Cape Town, South Africa. A group of friends came to the realisation that there was a gap between the current offering of institutions and the provision of high-quality education. They sought to bridge this gap by fostering change and creating long-lasting impact in the education sector, especially within the lower tiers of organisations, thus starting at the “groundfloor.”
Equipped with steadfast spirits, a passion for online education and an aspiration to enhance learning experiences across the globe, the founders of Groundflr started with a plan of action in 2016. They spent the better part of two years working on building a strong foundation for the company they had set out to launch.
Just like many other aspects of our company, the name Groundflr has deep significance tied to it. With a mission and objective to serve previously overlooked areas – meaning those at the groundfloor of companies like lower learning and development tiers that were often excluded from high investment (previously known as Groundfloor Labs) Groundflr was born.
Being an eLearning company at its core, Groundflr’s initial service offerings included management consulting, change management and leadership development. One of our earliest projects involved digitising content for mass sharing across businesses. Our involvement in that particular project led to us receiving countless requests from companies that were interested in our services. This reflected a major turning point in our company as we began working with more clients across the globe on several different projects.
With a vision to impact those beyond the realm of education, employment and training, Groundflr has developed strong relations with key global players in high-quality universities, large blue-chip corporates and global NGOs. A key value that is synonymous with our brand is growth, both internally as a company and in our service offerings to our clients. We are pleased to have expanded exponentially since our inception and have now developed a remarkable team with the talent and skill to offer a number of services, allowing Groundflr to become an international player in the field of eLearning.
Into the future
Fast forward to the year 2021, Groundfloor Labs rebranded to Groundflr symbolising a newness in terms of skills, focus areas and ultimately, an internal symbolic "level up". With a team that comprises experts, industry leaders and change-makers, Groundflr has made great strides in the eLearning industry and continues to develop strategically to deliver long-lasting impact to learners. Moving forward, the Groundflr future looks bright as we set our sights on the innovative concepts of reimagining training and development, which includes talent development platforms that seek to empower working professionals to develop their professional development story.
